blog prompt 3

To what extent do you think it is your duty as a citizen to be informed? are you informed? how do you get to be informed about serious issues? To what extent do you think that you should leave the complicated decisions to others?

I think as a citizen it is very important to be informed because if we are not informed we'll never be aware of what issues are occuring, and if we are unaware of issues occuring we are able to do nothing to stop it. However on saying that I believe many of us are not informed on issues and this is because they don't expect us to doing anything about them. The times we do get informed about issues is usually done through the media such as television, newspapers and now even facebook can be used as a way to find out about issues.
I think the majority of the time complicated decisions should be left up to the experts and proffessionals as they know the best way to deal with the situation, however sometimes it should be down to the public as a whole to decide how to react to something

  1. I also believe that many issues should be left to the professionals, as it is their jobs and specialities, however I think that some decisions can be made with the help of the public which it is why it is important to be informed. Who do you mean by 'they' when talking about issues. In many ways there are ways that we can help issues, maybe in a small way, but this could be very effectively, in my opinion.
